This event is named in honor of Tom Bunk, who was a mentor to so many of us.  Tom went far beyond being a role model for ultra-runners, showing everyone he encountered the right way to live life.  All proceeds from this event will be used for projects in the Kettle Moraine State Forest; the first one was a permanent year-round shelter at the Scuppernong trailhead, now complete and in use!  SHELTER PHOTOS

Thank you for your donations and support for the shelter project!  Future proceeds will fund additional  projects in the Kettle Moraine State Forest.

Newer options:
Night-time option for 50K! Starts at 8pm Saturday night; finisher medallions and results (but no champion awards).
15K Fun Run!  For runners who want to participate in, and support the event, but are not looking for an ultra-marathon.  No awards, timing, or results, but Fun runners will receive the same shirt, goodie bag, and aid station support as those racing.  Fun runners may start the Blue Loop anytime between 2pm Friday afternoon and Noon on Sunday.  If you do not have enough fun, we'll send you out on a second loop!

Registration
All pre-registration will be on-line from May 1st to Nov. 4th (noon).  Runners may switch distances after signing up; please contact the RD no later than 1 week prior to the race for changes.  NOTE: All entry fees are non-refundable.  Race-day registration will be available.

State Park Sticker
A state park sticker is required for all vehicles at the Nordic trailhead.  If you do not have one, we will provide a daily sticker for your vehicle at no charge.  Additional stickers for crew and spectator vehicles will need to be purchased if required ($5 per day); pick stickers up at check-in (do not use the self-pay booth when entering the parking lot).

Camping/Overnight Parking
There is no campground at the Nordic trailhead, and overnight parking is usually not allowed.  Participants will be allowed to park overnight on Friday and Saturday nights only, and set-up a tent or canopy on the grass just north of the shelter building; camper/RV parking will also be allowed in the parking lot.  YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO SET UP, CAMP, OR SLEEP IN YOUR VEHICLE ON THURSDAY; DOING SO WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE RACE.  Camping before or after the race is available at the Ottawa Lake campground.

Race-day Check-in
Check-in begins each day at 6am at the start/finish area.

Aid Stations
There will be a fully stocked manned AS at the start/finish area, with a wide variety of food and fluids. There will also be an unmanned AS with fluids and snacks about half-way along the Blue loop; crews and spectators are not allowed at the unmanned ASClick here for more AS details.  NOTE: We have moved towards being a cupless event; pre-filled paper cups will not be set out at the aid stations.  Runners will be responsible for carrying their own container (bottle, vest, reusable cup, etc.) to refill along the way.  If you do not already have a reusable cup, we will provide you with one at check-in, courtesy of Hammer Nutrition!  Thanks for your help in reducing the trash generated by the race.

Drop Bags
Runners can leave a drop bag with their personnel supplies at the start/finish area.

Pacing
Runners in the 200M, 150M, and 100M can have a pacer (1 at a time) after they complete their first 5 loops.  Pacers are not allowed in the 50M and 50K.

Awards
There will be an award for the overall male and female champion in each event (except for the night 50K), and no age group awards.  Finishers in the 200M, 150M, 100M, and 50M races will receive a buckle, while 50K finishers receive a medallion.  You must finish the race you start in order to receive a finisher award, with the following exception: 200M runners who drop out, but complete 150+ miles within 48 hours will receive a 150 mile buckle.
